Law approved on 14 July 2006 regulates the Condecoration of the Francisco de Miranda Order. It states that the condecoration is created to recognize Venezuelan citizens and foreigners who have contributed to the sciences, the progress of the country, the humanities or [who have had] outstanding merits. It establishes the different levels of the condecoration and identifies potential categories of recipients. It otherwise deals with the use, technical specifications, and criteria for the selection of individuals receiving the condecoration. It concerns the Council of the Francisco de Miranda Order and, finally, covers the withdrawal of the Order and establishes penalties.
