EXCHANGE OF LETTERS
concerning clause 2 of the Agreement in the form of an exchange of letters between the European Economic Community and the Government of the German Democratic Republic on trade in sheep and goats and sheepmeat and goatmeat
Letter No 1
Sir,
I have the honour to refer to the Agreement in the form of an exchange of letters between the European Economic Community and the Government of the German Democratic Republic on trade in sheep and goats and sheepmeat and goatmeat.
Further to the said Agreement and to your request, I would advise you that the authorities of the German Democratic Republic will ensure that, for the duration of the Agreement, there will be no change in the traditional trade flows of sheep and goats and sheepmeat and goatmeat to the market areas in the European Economic Community determined as sensitive. Consequently it is agreed that there shall be no exports of these products to Ireland and France.
The authorities of the German Democratic Republic will accordingly adopt the necessary measures for this purpose.
I should be obliged if you would kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter.
Please accept, Sir, the assurance of my highest consideration.

of the German Democratic Republic,
