AGREEMENT

in the form of an Exchange of Letters concerning the provisional application of Protocol 2 establishing for the period from 1 April 1990 to 31 March 1991 the crawfish fishing opportunities and corresponding financial compensation provided for in the Agreement on relations in the sea fisheries sector between the European Economic Community and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco

A. Letter from the Kingdom of Morocco

Sir,

With reference to Protocol 2, initialled on 20 March 1990 establishing crawfish fishing opportunities and the corresponding financial compensation for the period from 1 April 1990 to 31 March 1991, I have the honour to inform you that the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco is ready to apply this Protocol on a provisional basis with effect from 1 April 1990, pending its entry into force in accordance with Article 7 of the said Protocol, provided that the European Economic Communty is disposed to do the same.

This is on the understanding that the financial compensation specified in Article 4 of the Protocol is paid before 30 August 1990.

I should be obliged if you would confirm the European Economic Community's agreement to such provisional application.

B. Letter from the Community

Sir,

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter of today's date, which reads as follows:

'With reference to Protocol 2, initialled on 20 March 1990 establishing crawfish fishing opportunities and the corresponding financial compensation for the period from 1 April 1990 to 31 March 1991, I have the honour to inform you that the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco is ready to apply this Protocol on a provisional basis with effect from 1 April 1990, pending its entry into force in accordance with Article 7 of the said Protocol, provided that the European Economic Community is disposed to do the same.
